Fantastico is a commercial script library that automates the installation of web applications to a website. Fantastico scripts are executed from the administration area of a website control panel such as cPanel.
Fantastico scripts are usually executed when a new website is created, or a new application is added to an existing website. The scripts typically create tables in a database, install software, adjust permissions, and modify web server configuration files. Although Fantastico is typically associated with open-source software, a handful of scripts are also available that install commercial products.
An important thing to remember about Fantastico is that due to the number of products that Fantastico can install it isn’t always possible for us to have the latest version of each piece of software installed in Fantastico, so it is important to always check to make sure that you have the latest version of the software installed, this may mean updating the install manually outside of Fantastico, but it will be simple to do, and there will be support available to help you through the update process, or alternatively you could always ask us to do the updates for you.
